Eric Appleby is an experienced independent consultant specialising in work with the voluntary sector, but drawing on experience that encompasses the public, voluntary and private sectors.  He has held senior positions in the key voluntary sector bodies, including serving three terms as Chair of the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations (ACEVO) and in 2000 won the Charity Awards overall award for Excellence in Charity Management.

Some Little Known Facts About Eric

---

The reason I joined the Pullens Group was I did want to be a member of a club (any club) that would have me. And they are a talented and knowledgeable bunch to whom I like to think I can bring a wider experience of the third sector.

When in need of comfort I enjoy reading old newspapers whilst eating cheese and watching any live sport on offer. Multi-tasking is a strength.

My biggest regret? I try not to harbour them, but the disappointment of missing out on playing football at Wembley in 1975 still lingers….

The best day of my life so far? A toss up between scoring the wining goal in the Baxter Cup final, aged 10, and my 30th wedding anniversary meal with friends and family (although there have quite a few other highlights in between).

The job from hell – working the night shift as a lone security guard in a large and echoing factory, sited between an asylum and a cemetery.
